Welcome to Notes From the Road—an inside look at desert happenings, things we’re currently into, and anything/everything in between brought to you by one of our owners and founders, Janelle. We don’t gatekeep here in the high desert, so if we love it, you need to know about it.

That being said, summer is a magical time to visit the hi-desert. No wait times for popular restaurants, beautiful evening walks, and yes, you can get that prized campsite in the park without having to pre-plan too far in advance! (Tip: check out Indian Cove to camp amongst the boulders.) For more to do, revisit our Summer Desert Guide on the Journal, and follow Pioneertown Gazette on IG or subscribe to their weekly newsletter to stay in the know.
If you didn’t hear us shouting it from the rooftop, our Boxy Tees are back in stock in all colorways. It’s a perfect shirt for summer as the boxy width lets the breeze in.

Soon you’ll be able to stop in Lucerne Valley on your way up to Big Bear and grab lunch at their new burger spot, The Lucern Lunch Box! We are so excited for them!
